After US President Donald Trump asked Western countries to bring their ISIS prisoners (members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) home, there has been hot discussion on this issue. There are several ideas and opinions about what is correct or wrong in this case. Some believe that ISIS prisoners who are European citizens must be taken home and prosecuted in the countries to which they belong. Some have suggested that they should be prosecuted in Syria or Iraq instead. There is also a suggestion that a court should be established in the area, as was done in the pirate case on the Somali coast. Finally, there are also ideas for establishing a special tribunal similar to other special courts that have previously dealt with genocide cases.

Ofrene for ISIS-krigernes forbrydelser bliver glemt i debatten om, hvor de skal retsforfølges. Det er desværre ikke retfærdighed for ofrene, der er i fokus i sagen om ISIS-krigerne. I stedet for at diskutere om de skal til Danmark, bør vi arbejde for, at de retsforfølges efter folkedrabskonventionen, skriver Shakhawan Shorash i dette debatindlæg

After the revolt in Syria in 2011, the Kurds managed to control the Kurdish territory (Rojawa) and keep it out of the internal ethnic war in Syria. They then established a form of self-rule entities (Cantons) under the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria. Under the new revolutionary constitution, the Kurds empathized with minority rights, gender equality, direct democracy, and democratic confederalism. They could further protect refugees, Christians and Yazidis, and secular Kurds and Arabs. After the ISIS territorial occupation, they stopped ISIS and helped theirWestern allies in the war against ISIS.

Turkey bombarded and killed six civilians inside the Iraqi Kurdistan in the Sheladze area near the Iraq-Turkey border in January. Six days later, angry people in the area and relatives of the victims gathered and demonstrated in front of a Turkish military base close to them. The Turkish soldiers opened fire, killed one person, and injured ten others. The demonstrators rebelled, took over, and burned the base. (درێژەی زیاتر…)

نادیە لە تەمەنی ٢١ ساڵیدا لە ١٥ سەپتەمبەری ٢٠١٤ دا لە گوندەکەی خۆیان کۆجۆ لەلایەن داعشەوە دەستگیردەکرێ و بەکۆیلە دەکرێ، لە نۆڤەمبەری ٢٠١٤ رزگار دەبێ، لە سەرەتای ٢٠١٥ دا وەک پەنابەر دەگاتە ئەلمانیا، لەساڵی ٢٠١٦ دا ٣ خەڵاتی مەزن (بالوێزی نیازباشی یوئین، مەدالیای مافەکانی مرۆڤ و ئازادی دەربڕین) بەدەست دەهێنێ، لە تەمەنی ٢٤ ساڵیدا لە ساڵی ٢٠١٨ دا خەڵاتی نۆبلی ئاشتی بەدەست دەهێنێ.
